Country music is arguably the most popular type of American music (then again, Creed is pretty popular too). It’s full of catchy lyrics, and even white people can dance to it. You can’t square or line dance to hip hop, that’s for sure. Some of the best country artists are some of the best musicians that ever lived. Ever heard of Elvis Presley? Johnny Cash? It’s easy to achy-breaky heart country music.
Before it was called “country music” it was called “hillbilly music“. If you’re not a hillbilly, and you can’t relate to a story where you lost your car, wife and job, you probably hate country music. It’s a genre that really hasn’t evolved, and is full of terrible hooks and clichéd lyrics. Save a horse ride a cowboy? She thinks my tractor’s sexy? The only thing worse than the fact that people write these lyrics is the fact that people buy the albums.
