Heart:
From Kelly Clarkson to William Hung, Ruben Studdard to David Cook, Idol has captivated the nation for nearly 10 years. There are a number of reasons to heart American Idol, from the singers to Paula, Simon and Ellen. Even Ryan Seacrest deserves some love.
Hate:
As with any voting show, it’s flawed by mass opinion. Where any competition would be entirely voted on by judges, Idol is entirely driven by user participation, which just ruins the idea of “picking the best”. Plus, having to watch Ryan Seacrest for hours on end? That’s reason enough to hate American Idol.
